bio

I’ve been painting and making art for more than 20 years. I have studied occasionally at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, but I am largely self-taught, having put together my own educational path held together by my dogged determination and love of art. I paint from direct experience, with everything depending on being alert and present in the moment. Ultimately, the work ends as a symbolic distillation of impulse, observation and response. Once I have said all that I want to say in a painting, I stop.

I currently show work at Morpeth Contemporary in Hopewell and have had my work included in exhibitions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Connecticut. My paintings have been selected for awards nine times to date.
